Check your lights - Do not rely on the automatic function

Many vehicles are equipped with automatic headlights, but relying on them completely can lead to a dangerous (and ticketable) mistake.

Just because your dashboard lights are on doesn't mean your taillights are activated.

We are seeing that many drivers are accidentally cruising in the dark with zero rear visibility because their system is set to "DRL" (Daytime Running Lights) or the auto-sensor hasn't triggered in heavy rain, fog, or twilight.

Follow these quick rules to stay safe and legal:

Override in bad weather: If your windscreen wipers are on, your headlights should be too. Manual control is always best in fog, rain, or snow.

Look for the green icon: Double-check your dashboard to confirm your low-beams are fully active.

Check the switch: Make sure your headlight dial is actually set to AUTO—it’s easy to accidentally bump it into the "OFF" or "DRL" position during servicing or cleaning or after MOT inspections!
